I think we’re single-handedly funding the Bounty corporation this month. No joke, since we got Lucy we must have bought more paper towels than the total of all paper towels we had ever bought, combined! The stack to the left should last us…through the weekend, if we’re lucky.

This little girl can be the cutest thing in the world, and when she’s sleepy and just wants to cuds, it’s like there’s nothing better in the world…however, the biting machine who seems to think any form of punishment is a challenge to act worse (if you push her off the couch, she’ll spring back. if you say “NO!” she’ll bark back “YES!!!”), can be challenging–to say the least.

But I digress…the topic at hand today is really:

Almost bedtime…quick blog before I hit the sack. And hopefully by sack I mean, my bed. Although we were just at Pasquali’s (a high class joint in our local mall) and after I had had enough, the bartender sponsered another round. You can’t pass up free booze right? So I had a little more, and then shot my mouth off–much to Amy’s dis-pleasure. So that’s why I say I hope it’s my bed…as opposed to, the couch.

In other news, Will (my brother in law) and I put in a new water heater tonight. The Kenmoore Power-Miser 9 (40 gal). That was a nice little scratch to my archetypal machismo. Now we can take a shower, and do the dishes at the same time!

Ok, now onto the good stuff:

Jamie (shown above, right sporting his superhero look, and one of my t-shirts as PJs) had a sleep over at our house–SO MUCH FUN! We rented Disney’s “The Wild” which he thuroughly enjoyed. And we had lot’s of time to play with Lucy too!

Jamie and Lucy did really well together. Although at first, they were both so excited to see each other that they worked each other up into this hyper-spazmic tizzy that had Jamie flailing his arms around all over the place, and Lucy looking to bite this new flailing toy she found.

Here’s a quick run-down of what our Saturday was like with a 10 week old puppy and a 3 year old boy:

5:40am: Lucy starts whinning for breakfast.
5:55am: We stop pretending that if we just ignore it, it will just go away and we feed her.
5:56am: She’s done with breakfast, so we put her back in her kennel in hopes of sleep.
6:00am: Jamie comes in saying that Lucy woke him up, and we should all get up and watch “The Wild” with him (my response was: “no Jamie, the sun isn’t up yet, so god wants us to keep sleeping.” it worked for about an hour).
7:00am: Both Lucy and Jamie made it clear that there would be no more sleep this morning.
8:00am: “Jamie, what do you like for breakfast?” “Pancakes!” (he settled for frozen waffles).
…I could keep going hour by hour, but I think the early hours are give a good idea, and to summarize the rest of the day, we:
-took a bath (Lucy’s chew toys make great bath toys too!)
-played fetch with Lucy
-watched ninja turtles (fast forward)
-watched “The Wild” some more.
-went over to see J&J’s kids Emma (3) and Isaac (1). All was well here, except we did have to perform a couple of “hand checks” when Emma and Jamie were getting too friendly.
-lunch: for Jamie, mac and cheese. for us, papa john’s
-had “nap” time which consisted mostly of watching “The Wild”.
-more fetch time with Lucy

That’s about all for now. I’ve got to go up and see if I’ve got a place for me up there.

Hey. It’s me again. Turns out i can blog from my phone. It’s probably not all that important since i’m sitting right next to my pc…but imagine if i was on a road trip or something? Ok. I’m done. Enjoy your lucy pic.

Need I say more?

OK fine, I will say more (since I’m waiting for a phone call from my boss anyway). I’ll say this:

I’m totally that guy who thinks everyone wants to see every single picture, and hear every single story about my puppy. I’ve sent at least 3 emails to my coworkers. My blog is full of Lucy (although I think Amy’s is worse), and any time I talk to anyone–this is about all I can come up with for converstation.

I also assume that everyone in the world wants to hold or pet her.
We were on a walk the other day and old guy rode by on his bike. Lucy was curious and tugged the leash towards him so I let her walk right into his path (we cut him off). He stopped, and reached down and pet her–but I realized as he was breaking that he totally wasn’t planning on petting the random puppy, had we not been all up in his path.

I wonder what I’ll be like when I have kids?

Nothing’s final…

but we really want a puppy (in fact we didn’t really get each other x-mas gifts because we wanted to get each other a puppy). We want a lab, we were thinking yellow, and preferably female. We even have the name picked out: Lucy (we think).

I checked some out today and I have a huge crush on this one up there!
